NC native Jimmy Jett has spent most of his working life as a teacher or a tractor trailer driver. During an 11 year stint in the 70s and 80s as a road driver, he began writing songs.

His best known song, Greenville Trestle High (aka Green Hill Trestle), was also one of his first. Doc and Merle Watson recorded it on their 1986 bluegrass Grammy winner, “Riding the Midnight Train." Rebel Records included it on their 2002 train song collection, “Raised by the Railroad Line: Classic American Train Songs."

“My Carolina” is his first CD. The ten song recording released in the spring of 2010 includes nine of Jimmy’s originals. He and his wife, Helen, live in Asheville, NC.
